Butterflies

This is an image I found on photobucket.
What interested me when I first saw this image, was the color scheme. I liked how the artists used mainly dark colors, and then there is a rainbow colored butterfly. The content is also rathering interesting to say the least. The tree on the big bubble in the sky is interesting, and all the butterflies mixed with the crow.

pop art.

One famous artist that many people know is Andy Warhol. Andy Warhol was one of the first artists to create pop art.
Pop art uses a lot of colors, and sometimes doesn't make sense. He uses a lot of complementary color in his work. Colors like purples, yellows, and oranges, and reds, pinks, and greens. They're called hot and cold colors.

I did a rendition of this piece. Instead of Marilyn Monroe, I used John Mayer. I used four blocks and colored them in the same way that Andy Warhol did, using complementary colors. It adds a lot of pop that way...given it's name, "pop art".

Here is another pop art image. This image only uses three main colors and black and white. It uses yellow, blue, and different hues of reds. That creates an impact, because the image isn't all about the colors, it's about the content. The colors do add a lot to the image, however. When I made a self-portrait in this style, i used reds, green, and brown. Also, what you'll notice about the picture, is that the skin, lips, and eyes have dots covering the ful surface of them. That is what gives it that comic book pop look. When I made my version, I used pink dots for the face, to make it look as though the face was pink, when really it was just pink dots covering the surface.

Leopard Tree

Here is an image which I thought to be interesting.
Although, it isn't the most complex image, simple can be good sometimes.
This is an image of a leopard, probably a painting, or a computerized image. And the leopards head is a tree stump.

Surrealism in the Sky

Here is an interesting image I found on this blog.
I found this picture very unique and cool. The person who created this image must've spent a good amount of time with photoshop to create this.
First, you have to consider the amount of time it took to  find all these images.
Then, putting them together. They must've had to mess around with the sky and the castle quite a few times in order to get the perfect effect. What they had to do was to take the castl, place it behind the clouds, and then lower the opacity of the clouds just enough to let the castle shine through.
Then, to get the birds looking the way they do must have taken awhile too.
The reason being, that first of all the crows are very small and he probably had to crop them out of a larger scene.
Overall this picture is just great and displays a good amount of skill and creativity.

Fallen Bird

Art is a  good way to just relax and let out your feelings in a creative manner.
A few of my favorite pieces consist of a black and white self-portrait, which i took and developed in the dark room all by myself. It's a photograph of myself sitting outside on the ground. I am wearing a mask which i made out of leaves. After developing the photograph, I scratched wings into the picture.
One reason I like this picture so much is because of its content, and the lack of color really brings something to the table on this one. This picture is called the Fallen Bird. The reason I named this photo Fallen Bird, is because of the wings as well as the mask. Also, because although you may not always fly, you always have wings, and when you're done you need to remember the good aspects of life and take off into the sky.
Another image of mine that I like very much, is a picture of a giraffe which has a cow stomach, tiger legs, and butterfly wings. The animal had been filtered so that it looked as though it was drawn with pencil. I then removed the color from the picture, and colored it in using a tablature and Correll Painter. The final image is an animal which looks like a colorful flying giraffe standing below a waterfall with a rainbow in the background.

Glass Scene Under the Sea

Sure, this looks like a nice aquatic scenary.
However, this scene is not made out of leaves and plants and such, it is made out of blown glass. A man named Dale Chihuly made it.
Dale Chihuly is a famous artist who takes glass and makes art out of it.
He likes to make things look natural and as though they were part of nature.
What he does is blows glass into wild things, then sometimes he puts it in the woods, or lets it float down rivers. He also makes decorations and chandelliers. Most of his pieces sell for over one million dollars.
Although, Dave Chihuly only has one eye, he doesn't let it stop him from achieving beautiful masterpieces for the world to see.
One thing that he did was he took twenty-six huge ice slabs, brought them into a desert in Jerusalem, lit them up with neon lights, and watched to see how long it would take the huge masses of ice to melt.
The whole town gathered around to see as the ice slowly melted. It took three days and three nights until the ice was fully melted.
I think his art work is very unique and beautiful. You should check out more of his master pieces.

Giraffe City

Although I love all animals, giraffes are my favorite.
Here is one of my first images that I created using Photoshop. Although, it wasn't the most difficult image to make, it did take me a bit of time. I kept messing up on the legs and making them too thin. Also, I had to edit the size of the giraffes, and I had to erase the land that the giraffes were in. That's one of the reasons why I had a hard time with the legs. I had to copy the pattern on the legs and paste it down to make the legs longer.
Over all, for one of my first creations in the graphic design class, Creative Imaging, I am happy with the way it came out. If I were to re-do a few things, I definitely would make the legs of the giraffe on the left a bit wider. I also would add a few more giraffes, or maybe some trees to the city.
I hope that you enjoyed viewing this picture. Thank you for reading!
